About the Role
We’re looking for a (Senior) Director of Finance, FP&A to join our growing team at our New York HQ. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role responsible for leading strategic financial planning and reporting. You will partner directly with the CFO, CEO, and department leads to help shape the company’s growth trajectory and operating performance. This role will own everything from forecasting and budgeting to investor communications, KPI reporting, and strategic insights that fuel decision-making across marketing, operations, and sales. Ideal candidates are hands-on, analytical, and can connect the dots between numbers and business strategy.
Responsibilities
- Lead the company-wide FP&A function: Annual Operating Plan (AOP), rolling forecasts, and monthly budget vs. actuals.
- Own investor and board reporting: Build investor decks, KPI dashboards, and executive-level performance updates.
- Drive weekly/monthly business reporting: Partner cross-functionally to own KPI development and ongoing tracking.
- Work with marketing leadership to build performance dashboards and provide insights into customer acquisition, retention, and LTV.
- Partner with operations and supply chain to optimize inventory planning and S&OP processes.
- Collaborate with the Controller to ensure accurate and timely month-end closes for a multi-channel business (DTC, B2B, wholesale).
- Evaluate new strategic initiatives (e.g., channel expansion, pricing, partnerships) and provide recommendations backed by financial modeling.
- Drive ad hoc financial and operational analysis to support leadership decisions.
- Act as internal expert across systems (Shopify, Netsuite, Shiphero, Looker/analytics platforms).
- Lead financial diligence and data room prep for capital raises, as well as support investor relations and reporting needs.
- Mentor junior team members and instill operational rigor across the org.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, or related business field
- 8–12 years of progressive FP&A or strategic finance experience (ideally in CPG, food/bev, or omnichannel brands).
- Strong financial modeling chops—Excel is your second language.
- Experience with Shopify-based businesses and familiarity with associated analytics tools.
- Netsuite experience; comfort with accounting and financial statements (you’ve worked closely with accounting teams).
- Project management skills to lead timelines around budgets, closes, reporting cycles.
- Experience with forecasting demand and inventory in partnership with ops/supply chain teams.
- Executive presence and ability to translate complex numbers into clear business strategies.
- Strategic thinker who’s not afraid to dive deep into the details.
- Curious and action-oriented—someone who spots problems and solves them.
- Thrives in a collaborative, in-person work environment.
Perks and Benefits
- Competitive compensation package with meaningful equity ($185,000- $220,000 base +/- depending on experience) + bonus + equity
- Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage
- PTO and Paid Holidays
- Accelerated career advancement opportunities: we encourage all team members to have a founding team mindset and truly own their career at Cumulus
- The best perk: unlimited access to the best cold brew, nitro cold brew, and cold espresso you've ever had...at the push of a button
