Job Summary:
The ETL Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end execution of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) projects, ensuring the successful delivery of data integration solutions. This role requires strong project management skills, technical expertise in ETL processes, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet business and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, manage, and oversee ETL projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, data architects, and development teams to define project objectives and requirements.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including task assignments, schedules, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Coordinate with ETL developers and data engineers to ensure the proper implementation of data integration solutions.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential roadblocks, and implement corrective measures to keep projects on track.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity in all ETL processes.
- Manage stakeholder communication, provide regular project updates, and facilitate meetings as needed.
- Drive best practices for ETL development, data governance, and compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to ensure continuous process improvements.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with ETL projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT project management, with a focus on ETL, data integration, or data warehousing projects.
- Strong understanding of ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, SSIS, etc.) and database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, etc.).
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with Agile, Scrum, or other project management methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot ETL processes.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and leadership skills to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- Experience with cloud-based ETL tools (AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Google Cloud Dataflow, etc.).
- Knowledge of Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
- Experience in data modeling and data governance best practices
