Description:

We are seeking anyone with quality inspector experience in aerospace, manufacturing, etc.

Job Summary:
Performs product inspections at different stages of the manufacturing process of turbo expanders.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty well. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical demands required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain inspection tools and working area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
Maintain inspection tools and working area in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
Perform first article and in-process inspection in Machine Shop. Generate NCR to document the defects if necessary.
Perform first article inspection on incoming parts as required (including castings, forgings or finish machined parts).
Perform source inspection at local vendors if required.
Perform receiving inspection (Purchased parts and Raw Material), in-process inspection (both internal and external parts), and final inspection (assemblies, sub-assemblies, and/or final skids).

Other tasks as listed but not limited:
Priority inspection and communication with turbo planning
Occasional travels to suppliers sites for purpose of inspections / audits
5S maintenance in turbo inspection area
Red tag creation for rejected turbo parts at receiving inspection
Coordination and support to supplier quality engineer and NCR-MRB
Turbo final web-order inspection

Education:
High School diploma or GED required; Associate s Degree or vocational training in mechanical inspection, manufacturing technology or related field desirable; or equivalent combination of education and experience whereby requisite knowledge, skills and abilities have been demonstrated.

Experience:
Minimum of five years experience inspecting materials and mechanical parts used in the manufacture of high speed machinery such as turbines, turbo expanders, compressors, turbochargers, pumps, rotating machinery or related machinery.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Be able to interpret and extract necessary information per production travelers, drawings (blue-prints), procedures, specifications, and industrial standards.
Proficient in interpretation and usage of ASME Y14.5 (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance).
Be able to set up, maintain, and use varieties of inspection hand tools (caliper, mic, bore gages, rings & plug gages, profilometer, coating thickness gage, comparator, sine bar etc.).
NDE (liquid penetrant) certified level II (by ASNT or equivalent) desired. Note: NDE level 1 and 100 hours plus working hours (under Level II supervision) are considerable.
Be able to inspect weld throughout (pre, process, and post welding). Certified weld inspector or willing to become CWI is a plus.
Be able to work in a fast pace, dynamic manufacturing, shop floor environment.
Ability to work effectively with other team members is a must.
Working experience on several computer programs and databases (MS Office, Outlook, MRP, Engineering drawing database).
Working experience on pump, turbo expander industry and/or cryogenic industry is desirable but not required.
