Lead Active Directory Engineer

Location: Alpharetta, GA (3 days on-site a week)

Lead Active Directory & Systems Engineer (On Prem, Windows/VMware)
(10+ years senior level experience required)

• Architect & administer a large, on prem Active Directory forest in a mission critical Windows/VMware ESXi environment; design GPOs, trusts, and delegation strategies for scalability and tight security.
• Engineer virtualization: plan, build, and tune VMware vSphere/ESX clusters, UCS blades, and associated SAN/storage growth.
• Drive automation with Ansible, standardizing builds, patching, and configuration drift remediation across Windows and integrated Red Hat Linux systems.
• Own cornerstone projects - SCADA modernization, Infoblox rollout, UCS/storage expansion, and the deployment of Splunk, ThousandEyes, and Cisco DNAC for observability and security.
• Lead end to end Splunk implementation (indexers, forwarders, search heads) fully in house to meet stringent regulatory controls.
• Troubleshoot & support the OT/monitoring network, partnering with SCADA & Controls Engineering to maintain high availability.
• Champion compliance with industry regulations and internal cyber security standards; maintain rigorous change control documentation.
• Mentor Systems Administrators and junior Engineers; provide escalation, knowledge transfer, and smooth hand off from design/build to run/support.

Environment & Tools: Windows Server 2016 2022, Active Directory, VMware vSphere/ESXi, Cisco UCS, Infoblox, Splunk, ThousandEyes, DNAC, PowerShell, Ansible, Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
