User Experience Designer
We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented UX/UI Designer to join our client New Castle, Delaware. In this role, you will be responsible for designing user-centered experiences and conducting research to understand user and stakeholder needs. You will create and iterate on prototypes, wireframes, and other UX artifacts, ensuring they align with best practices and deliver exceptional usability. This role is on site! Candidates who are not commutable will not be considered.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct user and stakeholder research to gather insights and define design requirements.
• Develop user-centered experiences through artifacts such as user flows, low-fidelity concepts, and high-fidelity prototypes.
• Design and refine wireframes, concepts, and prototypes while adhering to industry best practices.
• Perform user testing to validate designs and improve functionality.
• Create UI designs and deliverables that align with project goals and user needs.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure designs are feasible and implemented effectively.
• Leverage knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related technologies to optimize designs.
• Utilize design and prototyping tools, like Figma, to create high-quality deliverables.
• Stay updated on UX/UI trends and integrate them into design processes.
• Ensure consistency and usability across all design assets
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Design (graphic design, interaction design, visual communication design or related field).
• 5+ years of experience in a design role for digital products across multiple platforms (mobile, touchscreen, desktop).
• Experience in complex system design, specifically web-based applications for data analysis (scientific domain experience a plus).
• A portfolio of related work detailing work from prototype to developed product.
• Fluent in design patterns and trends across digital platforms.
• Experience developing and working within a design system.
• Knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related technologies.
• Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (eg Figma).
• Solid communication skills and with the ability to articulate design ideas and gain consensus across a variety of stakeholders (organization management, product management, implementation teams, etc.).
• Ability to scope design activities and workstreams, manage expectations of stakeholders, and work within deadlines.
