Description

SAIC is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead Systems Engineer to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane and the Navy Hypersonic Program.

NOTE: This is a hybrid position requiring the candidate to be in office approximately 3 days per week.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Lead the systems engineering efforts for the NSWC Crane and Navy Hypersonic Program, ensuring technical requirements are met and program objectives are achieved.
  • Develop, review, and manage engineering documentation, including requirements specifications, test plans, and design reviews.
  • Conduct and oversee environmental testing, including shock, vibration, and temperature tests, ensuring compliance with military standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical and mechanical engineers, program managers, and other stakeholders, to ensure integrated and cohesive system designs.
  • Perform system analysis, trade studies, and risk assessments to support decision-making and program planning.
  • Lead the development and implementation of system integration and testing strategies, ensuring robust and reliable system performance.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative engineering environment.
  • Prepare and present technical briefings and reports to internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership and government clients.
  • Support program reviews, audits, and other activities as required to ensure program success.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in systems engineering, with a focus on environmental testing (shock, vibration, temperature, etc.).
  • Strong technical background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proven experience leading engineering projects and teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in engineering software and tools used for design, analysis, and testing.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate technical risks.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as required for program needs.
