Job Summary:
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading mechanical design efforts for UPS systems, including enclosures, thermal management, and structural integrity.
This role involves overseeing design projects, performing advanced engineering analyses, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure robust and efficient designs that meet industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, modeling, and development of UPS enclosures, cooling systems, and mechanical components with emphasis on structural design to meet harsh environments in accordance with Mil standards.
Utilize AutoDesk Inventor to create and modify 3D models and generate detailed drawings.
Maintain and manage documentation, including drawings, BOMs, and revisions; create and process redlines and ECRs/ECNs, manage design changes.
Create and review detailed engineering drawings and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
Select materials and manufacturing methods to ensure reliability, cost efficiency, and manufacturability.
Drive design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Work closely with electrical engineers, compliance teams, and manufacturing partners.
Develop and validate prototypes, ensuring compliance with industry regulations (UL, CE, IEEE, etc.).
Troubleshoot design and production challenges, providing innovative solutions. Identify and resolve production issues promptly to minimize disruption to manufacturing operations.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
Conduct FEA and CFD analysis to optimize thermal and structural performance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in mechanical engineering and 0 2 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience in UPS, power electronics, electrical enclosures, or related industries.
Expertise in AutoDesk Inventor for design and drafting.
Proficiency in FEA and CFD tools for analysis and optimization.
Experience with mechanical design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
Familiarity with document control process and procedures. Preferably with M3 PLM/ERP software.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards and compliance requirements.
Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively, influence and motivate others.
