Piper Companies is currently looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to work a contract to hire role. And to be a part of a large institution and to join a dynamic team dedicated to advancing animal care and research.
Responsibilities for the Veterinary Technician include:
Conducting daily health checks, administering medications, performing and monitoring anesthesia, and assisting veterinarians.
Work independently and collaboratively in managing animal colonies, maintaining surgical suites, and supporting research personnel
Assisting with technical support for treatments, data collection, necropsies, and compliance documentation.
Qualifications for the Veterinary Technician include:
Experience working with rodents, as well as other species such as dogs, pigs, and cats
Proficiency in anesthesia monitoring, drug dose calculations, and surgical procedures is essential.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical, as the role involves regular interaction with researchers and administrative tasks
Must demonstrate a commitment to animal welfare and an ability to work independently
Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, RVT, etc.) is a Plus!
