Role: IT Technical Project Manager
Duration: Contract
Location: Irvine, CA (Hybrid)

About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned technical project manager within our IT infrastructure, operations and business systems team. This person will oversee IT technology projects from initiation to completion, and will work closely with IT peers, business stakeholders and vendors.

Key Responsibilities/Requirements for the role:

  • Manage and execute IT projects, timelines, documentation, and reporting.
  • Develop and manage a detailed project plan, including scope, deliverables, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Manage the project delivery within timeline, scope and budget.
  • Participate in architecture and design reviews for project-related systems, ensuring that technical specifications and performance requirements are met.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements and solutions.
  • Monitor project performance, resolve issues, and implement improvements where necessary.
  • Regularly communicate project progress, risks, and issues to management, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Expertise in managing multiple technical projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with IT peers to improve existing IT support & delivery processes.
  • Develop and implement change management plans and communication strategies.
  • Ensure that all IT projects comply with relevant laws and regulations.

Educational requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years' experience in the IT industry, with expertise in Project Management & Business analysis, experience in working in a life sciences or pharmaceutical industry will be preferred.
  • PMP certification is desired
  • Experience with Project management tools, like Smartsheet or JIRA, is desired.
  • Strong understanding of business analysis techniques, capable of influencing project scopes and outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of business and technology systems, IT infrastructure, and agile methodologies.
  • Good understanding of cloud systems (Azure, AWS), and Microsoft technologies (AD, Exchange, Office 365, SharePoint).
  • Knowledge of ITIL and other IT Service management frameworks and systems such as ServiceNow.
  • High level understanding of data privacy and security standards, including HIPAA and GDPR.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
