Vice President Operations
We have been exclusively retained to find a Vice-President of Operations for our Dallas, Texas based client, a rapidly growing provider of third party Homeowner (HOA) and Condominium Management services (primarily Operational and Financial support) to high rises, condominium developments, townhouse and multifamily properties in Texas and Colorado.
The goal of our client is to double every 5 years which equates to 15% growth per year. They’ve virtually doubled in the last 5 years. Huge growth opportunity for the person to add to the scope of the role with the addition of other business lines after successfully operating in the role for an initlal one to two year period.
The successful candidate will report directly to their dynamic Chief Operating Officer and have oversight of 500 + employees over two (2) business lines - property (portfolio) management and site operations.
Our client will offer relocation assistance to well qualified candidates who are based in other cities in the United States (USA) and can commit to moving to Dallas within realistic timelines.
The position is located in the corporate office in the Irving Texas area. At least 4 days a week in the office, possibility to flex one day WFH
This is not a 9 to 5. Travel is 25%, basically one week per month, a key requirement because of the need to visit the client properties. The Vice President of Operations is also expected to be available for emergency situations 24/7
Key objectives of the role
Provide a 2 (two) deep touch point directly to the clients from the corporate office and also via the reporting Regional Directors giving clients a much more hands-on customer service approach.
Drive Revenue by capitalizing on operational efficiency and reporting deliverables. There are major opportunities to impove the business here and grow the value of the business.
Compensation
This position is budgeted up to $200k salary (depending on experience) + 10% target bonus + benefits
Key skill sets
The ideal person must be highly entrepreneurial, hands-on seeking a growth opportunity, probably not a fit for someone requiring structure and operating in their comfort zone in a large organization.
The ideal person will Ideally come from the same industry but could come from other aligned industries, for example luxury/premium hospitality operations which are high touch. The COO is prepared to mentor and teach the HOA business to exceptonal candidates from these other industries.
Key Skill/Educational requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred.
- Five to seven years’ experience in Property Operations and/or Hospitality, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CMCA, AMS and/or PCAM Accreditation from CAI preferred.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills to help create effective customer-focused relationships with all levels within the organization.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, people-oriented individual. Able to work under tight deadlines and use time effectively based on key priorities.
- Coaching and training abilities and understanding of Accounting principles are desired.
