A Day In The Life Of a Documentation Specialist
- Collecting medical information from healthcare providers and updating patient medical records.
- Verifying the accuracy of patient medical information and obtaining missing information.
- Monitoring diagnoses, treatments, and follow up entries in medical records.
- Interpreting and assessing medical records and documents to ensure compliance with federal and state healthcare benefit laws, rules, and regulations.
- Ensuring the content and storage of medical documents comply with federal laws and accreditation standards.
- Ensuring the accuracy of clinical documentation recordkeeping procedures.
- Maintenance and filing of all appropriate client, regulatory, etc. records.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding employment, safety and compliance and report to any concerns of non-compliance in any area to your manager immediately.
- All other responsibilities as assigned by Director of Client Intake & Reorder Services or other Executive Management.
- Associate's degree or equivalent in business or office administration
- 2+ years of related work experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Prefer experience in sales, sales support, and related product offerings
- Track record of achievement based on previous performance, awards, evaluations, etc.
- In an 8 hour day the employee lifts/carries 10 LBS rarely.
- In an 8 hour day the employee stands/walks 1 hour.
- In an 8 hour day the employee sits 7+ hours.
- In an 8 hour day the employee drives a vehicle rarely.
