Lawrence Group’s New York office is seeking an entry-level Designer with 0-2 years of architectural design experience in a professional office environment to join our Retail Design Studio. The boutique design Studio in NY has about 10 architects and designers with a focus on prototype design and design-forward roll-out projects ranging from traditional retail to medical services and health and wellness concepts.

The team in the New York office is seeking qualified candidates with versatile design experience starting immediately. Most project work will include the full range of design through construction administration.

Responsibilities

  • The team specializes in collaborating with clients to roll out their brands with services including building surveys, due diligence, code analysis, design and presentation, 3D modeling and rendering, architectural construction documents, engineer coordination, and permitting services.
  • Project involvement may also include space planning, finish selection, design development, and detailing.
  • Some construction administration, including shop drawing review and responding to RFI’s will also be part of this position.

Professional Skills/Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited institution.
  • 0-2 years professional experience, preferably in a commercial design firm using Revit and AutoCAD
  • Excellent design, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Knowledge of general interior construction, methods & materials, details, and standard building codes.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Microsoft (Office, Outlook, Excel, Word) and the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop) is a minimum requirement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with a strong work ethic, with the ability to juggle multiple projects deadlines.
  • Client interaction/communication balanced with production mindset.
  • Time Management skills meeting project schedules & deadlines, engineer coordination, building department correspondence, issuing permit drawing sets and client interaction.
