
AS400 Application Architect
Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
o COBOL, ILE COBOL
o RPG (RPG III / IV / Free)
o CLP, CLLE
o CA 2E (Synon 2E), DSPF, and CA 2E Change Management tools

Roles & Responsibilities-
• Lead the design, analysis, development, and enhancement of AS/400 applications using COBOL, RPG, and Synon 2E.
• Analyze current stability issues in the AS/400 ecosystem and provide performance tuning recommendations.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks related to CPU usage, disk contention, IOPS, and memory.
• Optimize and maintain DB2 iSeries databases including indexing, query optimization, and data modeling.
• Develop and maintain CLP/CLLE scripts for batch processing and job scheduling.
• Interface with IBM MQ systems to ensure stable message-based communication.
• Guide the modernization and stabilization of legacy systems without disrupting current business processes.
• Utilize monitoring tools to track performance, proactively identify risks, and implement preventive measures.
• Provide leadership and architectural oversight for large-scale enhancements, migrations, or redesigns.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams, DBAs, and business analysts to address system performance and functionality
