This position performs a range of duties including but not limited to: reviewing and analyzing various ledgers, spreadsheets and reports within the State Integrated Governmental Management Application (SIGMA); analyzing and reviewing transactions posted into SIGMA to ensure proper posting and that they are in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and theories (GAAP), Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO) accounting policies and procedures and the State of Michigan Financial Management Guide (FMG). This position is also responsible for analyzing year-end accounting entries, maintaining databases and control records.
There is a possibility of a remote/hybrid schedule of TWO days in the office, THREE days from home. Alternate work schedules are considered on an individual basis. However, all work must be performed in Michigan. If you currently reside outside of Michigan, you must relocate to Michigan to perform the duties of this position.

Accountant 10
One year of professional experience performing or auditing the systematic classification and evaluation of accounting data and the preparation of related financial and managerial reports equivalent to an Accountant 9 or Auditor 9.
Accountant P11
Two years of professional experience performing or auditing the systematic classification and evaluation of accounting data and the preparation of related financial and managerial reports, including one year equivalent to an Accountant 10, Auditor 10, or Assistant Auditor General 10.
Alternate Education And Experience
Accountant 9 - 12
Possession of a Certified Management Accountant certification (CMA) may be substituted for six months of Accountant P11 experience.
OR
Possession of a Certified Public Accountant certification (CPA) may be substituted for one year of Accountant experience.
