
Electrical R&D Technician
Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of an Electrical R&D Technician for a contract position in Arden Hill, MN. The opportunity will be one year with a strong chance for a long-term extension.
Position Summary: The Electrical R&D Technician plays a critical role in the development of innovative medical devices. This position involves designing, prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting electronic components and systems. The technician will collaborate closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure that products meet regulatory standards and performance specifications.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Set up and evaluate electrical tests currently in development, ensuring accurate and reliable data collection.
- Execute design verification tests to validate product performance against specifications.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to engineers based on test results and observations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with prototypes and existing products.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to refine specifications and improve product functionality.
- Document test procedures, results, and any design changes in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports and presentations for project stakeholders.
- Maintain equipment and instruments.
- Train and mentor junior technicians and interns as needed.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to project planning activities.
- Use internal resources and qualified external vendors to assist engineering teams to identify and obtain supplies and services.
- Act as a resource to other employees.
- Communicate project status to project teams.
- Assist project teams in establishing specifications and quality standards.
- Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.
Qualifications:
- AA Degree or equivalent work experience in related discipline and 3 years of related experience.
- Electrical background and experience!
- Design test verification experience
- Must be self-sufficient!
- Programmable Function Generators
- Digital and Analog Oscilloscopes
- Power Supplies (DC/AC)
- LabVIEW Programming and Automation
- Power Analyzers (for efficiency and performance testing)
- Data Acquisition Systems (DAQ Cards)
- Source Measure Units (SMUs) for precise voltage and current sourcing
- Soldering and Circuit Assembly
- Assembling and Testing Custom Test Fixtures/Boards
- Troubleshooting and Debugging Electronic Test Boards
