The Cyber Security Specialist is responsible for protecting Horizon s information systems from cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and unauthorized access. This role involves monitoring networks, analyzing security incidents, implementing protective measures, and ensuring compliance with security policies and industry regulations. The Cyber Security Specialist reports directly to the IT Director and works closely with the Network & Systems Support Manager and the technical services support team to strengthen and maintain security defenses and respond to security breaches effectively.

Required Education and Experience

  • Associate s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent work experience and industry-recognized certifications may be considered in place of formal education.
  • Three to five (3-5) years of experience in a position of trust within cybersecurity, IT security, or a related field. Prior experience in network security, system administration, or penetration testing is a plus. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
  • Preferred Certifications: CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, CompTIA Pentest+, ComTIA Network+
