Position Summary

The Office of Recruitment and Admission at the University of Dayton invites applications for the position of Associate Director of Recruitment and Admission, Admission and Financial Aid. As a Catholic Marianist University, we are a diverse community committed to educating the whole person and linking learning and scholarship with leadership and service. Enrollment Management's division focuses on service excellence to recruit, enroll, and graduate highly qualified students and improve access, affordability, diversity, inclusion, and success. We are looking for a talented individual who values student interactions and can solve problems to advance the mission of the division and the university.

Reporting to the Director of Recruitment and Admission, this position develops and manages all aspects of on-campus visits and events. This position supervises campus visit staff, student ambassadors, and plans and executes best-in-class on-campus events and campus visit experience. The associate director will collaborate with campus partners to plan and manage a robust event and visit schedule. This position will collaborate with teams in Enrollment Management to develop marketing, communication, and coordinate staffing for on-campus events. This position will ensure a diverse, well-trained student ambassador staff is available for all campus visits and events. Through group presentations, the associate director will advise students and families about the admission and financial aid process. High energy and flexibility are necessary for this position as there is significant overnight, evening and weekend work.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Five years of experience in college admission, enrollment management, student affairs, or event planning.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines.

–Experience supervising student employees in a professional setting.

  • High attention to detail with strong analytical, problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Must be able and willing to work weekends and evenings and to travel regionally and nationally.

–Experience planning various types of events, from small visit programs to large-scale campus-wide events.

  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to Catholic and Marianist education principles and values.
  • Valid driver's license with low risk driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

  • Master’s degree in higher education administration, student services, or other closely related field.
  • Demonstrated experience working with families and students of diverse backgrounds.
  • Successful use of data to inform recruitment activities.
  • Experience with relationship management and articulating the value of higher education.

–Demonstrated ability to develop a strong sense of belonging for student employees and encourage professional development of student staff while continuing to grow the student ambassador team to meet the goals of the Office of Recruitment and Admission.

  • Prior experience and knowledge working with student information systems and CRM tools like Salesforce, Banner, and Blackthorn Events.
