The Quality Control Supervisor, reporting to the Director of Quality, is responsible for overseeing quality control activities in an Optical Device manufacturing environment. The role requires an experienced quality leader with the demonstrated ability to build, train, and develop a team of highly technical quality control inspectors. The chosen candidate will be responsible for ensuring that inspection methods, techniques, and practices are able to verify that received and manufactured products meet all engineered specifications and comply with all regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate staffing needs and fill critical inspection positions
  • Supervise, evaluate, and develop a team of quality control inspectors through competency testing, periodic evaluation, and goal setting
  • Inspect, test, and document status of incoming components, in-process assemblies, and finished goods
  • Manage quality records related to inspection, test, and verification activities
  • Work with Quality, Engineering, and Program Management to resolve non-conformances and disposition material through the Material Review Board process
  • Oversee and maintain inspection equipment calibrations and calibration records, including coordinating calibration activities with calibration vendors when necessary
  • Ensure implementation of and adherence to all quality control procedures and standards as outlined in the Quality Management System Collaborate with Continuous Improvement, Quality, and Operations personnel to improve quality, reduce costs, and deliver on customer expectations.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Quality Control, with 3+ years in a tight-tolerance or technical manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in Quality Control in a tight-tolerance/technical field.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 suite of applications.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and quality engineering teams.
  • US Citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality).
  • Experience in optical device manufacturing, metrology, or inspection of precision optical or mechanical components.
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience with CMM programming, vision systems, or other advanced inspection technologies.
  • Demonstrated success leading or supporting Continuous Improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
