Senior Mainframe COBOL Developer GEAC AR & ERP Migration Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mainframe COBOL Developer with experience in GEAC Accounts Receivable (AR) version 97.01.02 on IBM/AS400 mainframes. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in COBOL, DB2, VSAM, and ISAM, with a strong background in analyzing business rules embedded in legacy systems. Additionally, experience in helping customers migrate functionality from mainframe applications to cloud-based ERP solutions such as Oracle, SAP etc.

Key Responsibilities:

• Legacy System Analysis & Development:
• Analyze and interpret complex COBOL programs within the GEAC AR environment.
• Identify and document embedded business rules and logic for knowledge transfer and system modernization.
• Identity the batch programs and interfaces to and from the system and the associated business rules and input and output formats and data mapping
• ERP Migration Support:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to map legacy system functionalities to modern ERP platforms.
• Assist in data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes for seamless migration to cloud-based ERP systems.
• Technical Leadership:
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers and analysts.
• Lead code reviews, testing, and debugging sessions to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Documentation & Compliance:
• Create comprehensive documentation of system architectures, workflows, and business processes.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices during development and migration activities.

Qualifications:

• Experience:
• Minimum of 10+years of experience in mainframe application development using COBOL.
• Experience with GEAC AR is a Plus.
• Proven track record in migrating legacy systems to cloud-based ERP solutions like Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in COBOL, DB2, VSAM, ISAM, and CL.
• Strong understanding of DB2 triggers, stored procedures
• Familiarity with data migration methodologies.
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders and team members.
• Ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives.
• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
