Senior Database Administrator (DB2 & AWS RDS Postgres)

Currently, we are searching for a Senior Database Administrator (DB2 & AWS RDS Postgres) to join our team ON SITE in Jefferson City, MO.
Job Responsibilities:
- Administer, maintain, and optimize DB2 LUW databases in high-availability environments.
- Manage, monitor, and tune AWS RDS PostgreSQL databases for performance, availability, and scalability
- Perform database installations, upgrades, patches, and configurations
- Design and implement robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize queries and ensure efficient database structures
- Create and maintain documentation related to database architecture, procedures, and policies
- Implement security best practices to ensure database confidentiality, integrity, and availability
- Automate routine database maintenance tasks using scripting and AWS services where appropriate
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot complex database issues in a timely manner
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical issues as needed
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a DBA with hands-on expertise in DB2 LUW
- Strong experience with AWS RDS PostgreSQL administration
- Solid understanding of relational database concepts and performance tuning
- Experience with cloud-native database management, particularly on Amazon Web Services
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/pgSQL, and database scripting languages
- Experience with database security, auditing, and compliance standards
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Database Specialty or Solutions Architect Associate preferred
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) preferred
- Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines involving databases preferred
- Experience with additional database platforms (e.g., Oracle, MySQL) is a plus
- Regular and predictable attendance
