Senior Database Administrator (DB2 & AWS RDS Postgres)

Currently, we are searching for a Senior Database Administrator (DB2 & AWS RDS Postgres) to join our team ON SITE in Jefferson City, MO.

Job Responsibilities:

• Administer, maintain, and optimize DB2 LUW databases in high-availability environments.
• Manage, monitor, and tune AWS RDS PostgreSQL databases for performance, availability, and scalability
• Perform database installations, upgrades, patches, and configurations
• Design and implement robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize queries and ensure efficient database structures
• Create and maintain documentation related to database architecture, procedures, and policies
• Implement security best practices to ensure database confidentiality, integrity, and availability
• Automate routine database maintenance tasks using scripting and AWS services where appropriate
• Provide technical support and troubleshoot complex database issues in a timely manner
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical issues as needed

Minimum Job Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a DBA with hands-on expertise in DB2 LUW
• Strong experience with AWS RDS PostgreSQL administration
• Solid understanding of relational database concepts and performance tuning
• Experience with cloud-native database management, particularly on Amazon Web Services
• Proficiency in SQL, PL/pgSQL, and database scripting languages
• Experience with database security, auditing, and compliance standards
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Database Specialty or Solutions Architect Associate preferred
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) preferred
• Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines involving databases preferred
• Experience with additional database platforms (e.g., Oracle, MySQL) is a plus
• Regular and predictable attendance
