The Clinical Data Analyst I performs data validation and ensures integrity of clinical and operational data for use in analysis, supports other analysts in data management, documentation, maintenance, end user support, and troubleshooting of analytics systems, dashboards and reports used by hospital clinical quality, operations and reporting to external agencies.

The Quality Department at Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies provides direct oversight for performance improvement initiatives and is focused on Obstetrical, Gynecological, Newborn and Neonatal measures. Each specialty (maternal, gyn, newborn & NICU) has individual performance improvement initiatives which are continuously measured. Variances and measurement results are monitored, and the team works closely with executive/nursing/physician leadership, risk management, clinical nurse specialists, and the clinical quality team to implement evidence-based protocols and guidelines to improve overall care to the patients we serve.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Responsible for the data quality control of various clinical data systems.
- Generates standard or custom reports and dashboards, summarizing clinical, quality and operations data, for review by executives, quality leadership, clinical staff, and other stakeholders.
- Reviews, analyzes, and manages data and queries as regulatory reporting standards change, or as other opportunities for refinement occur.
- Analyzes data and generates complex reports for Quality, Regulatory and Performance Improvement stakeholders, research, executive summaries, and physician profiling.
- Works with other analysts, and clinical and operational staff to analyze these reports for opportunity identification and to format optimum report design.
- Creates or review technical design documentation to ensure the accurate development of reporting solutions in coordination with Information Services and external vendors.
- Maintains or updates business intelligence tools, analytical tools, databases, dashboards, spreadsheets, or methods.
- Documents specifications for business intelligence reports, dashboards, or other outputs.
- Develops guides and help documents, and maintains library of model documents, templates, or other reusable knowledge assets.
- Manages timely flow of business intelligence and analytics to end users.
- Provides technical support and training for end users to optimize the utilization of analytics products.
- Monitors quality, cost, and efficiency on an on-going basis.
- Evaluates the information flow and data collection methods for continuous process improvement.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Education/Training
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Knowledge in one or more quantitative subjects (e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Psychometrics, Epidemiology, Biostatistics,vEconometrics, Computer Science, Data Science)
- Knowledge of Business intelligence and data analysis software (Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, Qlik Tech QlikView/QlikSense, and Tableau) required.
- Knowledge of database user interface, query, and reporting software (Structured query language SQL, Microsoft Access) required.
- Knowledge of tools and techniques used in TQM/CQI/PI
- Two (2) years’ experience with analysis and report generation of data required.
- Advanced PC literacy in query building, spreadsheet generation, graphics, data management, and word processing
