As the Lead DevOps Engineer you will be responsible for supporting our public cloud infrastructure to ensure the availability, scalability, and reliability of our cloud-based applications.

This is a remote opportunity, the candidate must be located in the USA

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understanding highly available cloud architectures using best practices for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), ensuring scalability, reliability, and security
  • Managing and Collaborating with engineering teams to design and implement technical solutions that align with business requirements and drive customer success
  • Building and deploying CI/CD pipelines, enabling efficient and automated software deployments
  • Establishing credibility and fostering impactful relationships with internal and external stakeholders, earning their trust as an advisor and technical expert
  • Advocating for as well as and demonstrating operational maturity and responsible engineering practices to both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards

Skills and Qualifications:
BS, Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • 4+ years hands-on experience with AWS technologies
  • 3+ years hands-on experience with Linux
  • Must have strong Python skills
  • 2 years' hands-on experience with Containerization / Cloud Native
  • 2 years' hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling
  • Proven experience in implementing cloud governance and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Solid understanding of SRE principles and practices, including monitoring, incident response, capacity planning, and performance optimization
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
  • Nice to have:
    • AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator

This job will require you to:

  • Provide technical leadership and continuous improvement in cloud architecture and operations
  • Collaborate with Engineering teams and customers to understand their requirements
  • Lead the team with a focus on the operational end, i.e. making sure that various infrastructure initiatives are running smoothly, and engineering teams are getting proper attention and overseeing projects, program initiatives, and sustainment activities
  • Take ownership of incidents, proactive monitoring, and automating fixes to ensure optimal performance and reliability of the cloud environment
  • Have excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Strong scripting and programming skills in one or more languages, such as Python, or Bash
  • Stay updated with industry best practices, standards, and security guidelines, ensuring compliance and security of the cloud infrastructure.
