Specific Responsibilities:
The in vivo Antibody Discovery group is a specialized team within the Protein Therapeutics function that is responsible for the discovery and optimization of biological drug candidates. We are seeking a highly motivated contingent worker to join this team, with grade level corresponding to Research Associate to Associate Scientist. This is a limited term (6-month) position, with possibility being extended or converted into full time permanent employee. The successful candidate will contribute to antibody discovery efforts as part of a cross-functional team specializing in the discovery and screening of novel biologic modalities in support of all therapeutic areas
Job Responsibilities:
In this laboratory-based role, the successful candidate will support efforts to generate novel antibody-based therapeutics.
Ideally, the applicant has a strong foundation in molecular biology, PCR, in vitro mRNA production, and molecular cloning.
Job requirements:
• Drive antibody discovery by antibody sequencing/cloning, reformatting, and initial characterization.
• Design and optimize DNA constructs for in vitro mRNA immunogen production.
• Independently design, analyze and interpret experiments for the discovery and characterization of the isolated antibodies and alternate binder formats.
• Collaborate with Research Data Sciences and Discovery Sciences & Technology colleagues to support NGS-based antibody discovery and functional characterization.
• Present scientific results in multiple settings and attend project team meetings.
• Deliver scientific results for publications, patents, and regulatory submissions.
Qualifications:
B.S. in biological sciences, preferably with minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience or M.S. with minimum 1 years of experience and a proven track record in molecular biology and preferably antibody discovery.
An ideal candidate will have experience in most of the following areas:
• Strong expertise in molecular biology (PCR, reverse transcription, cloning) is required.
Experience with mRNA immunogen production is a plus.
• Experience in single-cell FACS sorting is desired. Working knowledge in other single-cell technologies a plus.
