Job Summary:

We had an exciting long-term contract opportunity for Diagnostics Leads based in Foster City, CA. This role requires an experienced professional to lead and coordinate diagnostic activities for automotive Electronic Control Units (ECUs). Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of diagnostic functionalities for automotive ECUs, ensuring alignment with project requirements and specifications.
  • Facilitate the exchange of critical and relevant diagnostic information between different ECUs and engineering teams.
  • Oversee the verification and validation of diagnostic features.
  • Gather and analyze information from various sources to identify key issues related to ECU diagnostics.
  • Compare diagnostic data, draw appropriate conclusions, and propose effective solutions.
  • Make timely and well-informed decisions regarding diagnostic strategies, implementation approaches, and issue resolution, considering facts, goals, constraints, and risks.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional and potentially global teams, demonstrating an understanding of diverse cultures and working environments.
  • Champion corporate values and guiding principles through actions and decisions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience in automotive diagnostics (e.g., 5+ years, though specify if a different minimum is required).
  • Strong understanding of automotive ECU diagnostic principles, requirements, and communication protocols (e.g., UDS, OBD-II).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical activities or small teams.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for exchanging technical information effectively.
  • Proven ability to make sound technical decisions under pressure.
  • Experience working in collaborative team environments.
  • Ability to display a global perspective and work effectively across different cultures.
  • Must be able to work onsite in Foster City, CA from day one.

  • Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools (e.g., CANoe, CANalyzer, Vehicle Spy, manufacturer-specific tools).
