Description:
As the Senior Microsoft Fabric Data Architect, you will be the cornerstone of our data operations, reporting directly to the CEO/Founder. You will design, implement, and optimize end-to-end data solutions using Microsoft Fabric, overseeing data ingestion, storage, semantic modeling, and reporting. Leading a small team of developers, you ll harness Fabric s unified platform to create standard data models and generate actionable sales reports, with the ability to drill down to micro-level insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Microsoft Fabric Expertise: Serve as the in-house authority on Microsoft Fabric, leveraging its full suite of tools (Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake, Power BI, etc.) to build scalable, efficient data pipelines and analytics solutions.
- Capacity and Storage Planning: Assess and configure Fabric capacity requirements to support 17 million unstructured documents, ensuring cost-effective storage, optimal performance, and scalability.
- Data Ingestion and Modeling: Design and implement data ingestion workflows for diverse data sources, creating multiple semantic models to support varied analytical needs. Ensure models are optimized for integration with Power BI.
- Reporting and Analytics: Develop standardized sales reports using Power BI, enabling macro-level overviews and micro-level filtering (e.g., by region, customer, or product). Ensure reports are intuitive and meet stakeholder needs.
- End-to-End Ownership: Manage the entire data lifecycle, from ingestion to storage, processing, modeling, and visualization, ensuring seamless integration across Fabric s components.
- Team Leadership: Guide and mentor, a small team of developers, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Standardization: Create and maintain standard data models to support consistent analytics and reporting across the organization.
- Innovation: Stay current with Microsoft Fabric updates and recommend enhancements to improve performance, scalability, and user experience.
Qualifications:
- Deep expertise in Microsoft Fabric, with hands-on experience in Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, and Power BI.
- Proven ability to architect end-to-end data solutions, including capacity planning, storage optimization, and semantic modeling.
- Strong proficiency in Power BI for creating complex, filterable reports with granular insights.
- Experience managing large datasets (e.g., 17 million unstructured documents) and designing scalable data architectures.
- Leadership experience guiding small technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft s broader cloud ecosystem (Azure, Synapse, etc.) and its integration with Fabric.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders, including the CEO/Founder.
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, Data Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
