Location: Hybrid role with occasional onsite requirements

Job Overview:
We're on the hunt for a proactive and technically adept System Programmer to join our ICT Cross Platform Tools team. This role is pivotal in modernizing and maintaining our suite of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) tools that bolster the governance, security, and management of our enterprise IT environment. If you're someone who can take charge of a tool, enhance it, and ensure its smooth operation, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and support a range of endpoint governance, patching, software inventory, asset management, encryption, and certificate management tools.
- Utilize and integrate RESTful APIs from various vendor tools to establish health checks, enable self-healing automations, and explore containerization opportunities.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to guarantee 24/7 tool uptime and support.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders across network, platform, workstation, and security operations teams.
- Independently and collaboratively analyze system issues, propose improvements, and implement enhancements.
- Manage vendor relationships and monitor tool performance to ensure security compliance and operational effectiveness.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 4 years of IT experience with a focus on programming, tool management, or system automation.
- Proficient in scripting and automation with Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Experience with Windows and Unix operating systems.
- Familiarity with pipeline tools such as GitHub for automation and CI/CD processes.
- Experience in managing tools and systems for endpoint security, compliance, patching, inventory, or certificate management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with containerization of traditional VMs.
- Experience working with RESTful APIs and integrating external services.
- Background in supporting enterprise-level tool suites and maintaining vendor relationships.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on documentation.
- Analytical thinker with a problem-solving mindset.
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Proactive in owning tasks and seeking improvements to the tools and systems they manage.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; OR
- Associate s Degree plus 2 years of related experience; OR
- 4 years of direct job-related work experience in lieu of a degree.
