The UX Designer specializes in user experience and product design with a human-centered approach to design mobile, digital & web applications that are intuitive, innovative and one’s that people love to use. This role has experience in creating valuable and actionable UX documentation, unparalleled visual design skills, passion for making complex products feel simple and intuitive, and can clearly articulate how a product should work in the digital and physical world.

This role requires close collaboration with cross functional teams while being responsible for facilitating user research, creating information architectures, building sitemaps, creating wireframes and high-fidelity visual designs, creating interactive prototypes, and ensuring design quality before production. At each stage, you will anticipate and advocate for what the user needs and ensure that the final product both meets their goals and is elegant and effective.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders and peer technologists to create common business and user goals
  • Facilitate and gather key stakeholder feedback of live products and new designs for UX iterations
  • Plan and facilitate user research through observation of and listening to user behaviors via qualitative and quantitative research methodologies (e.g. user interviews, A/B testing, usability testing, surveys, live product analytics and more)
  • Document and create user journeys, personas and audience segments
  • Design visual solutions for mobile, digital, and responsive web applications that address user issues in order to enhance both business and user goals
  • Create and drive UX vision and strategy for products and applications
  • Implement human-centered design methodologies and processes that leverage ongoing feedback, user insights and information
  • Translate user research insights into actions by partnering with product and software engineering colleagues to prioritize and execute on them
  • Create high-quality designs through user flow diagrams, wireframes, visual designs, interactive prototypes, presentations, and other design artifacts
  • Contribution to, compliance with, and encouragement of organizational standards, such as accessibility, design system standards, and identity and branding guidelines
  • Foster a UX-centric culture through teaching, sharing, and coaching others on best practices, UX methodologies, and standardized UX toolsets
  • Ability to present and UX designs to stakeholders in order to garner design feedback, create consensus and collaboration, and foster a culture of human-centered design thinking
  • Lead a team and/or provide coaching and mentorship to Associate and UX Designers
  • Behave as UX Lead on one or more product teams
  • Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement.”
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree Information Technology or other applicable degree
  • Empathetic and growth mindset with a willingness to learn new skills, technologies, and methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of human-centered design and UX best-practices (e.g. user research, usability testing, moderated/unmoderated interviews, etc.)
  • Strong understanding and ability to use relevant design and UX tools and platforms (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Adobe CC, InVision, UserTesting, etc.)
  • Developing in thoughtful conversations and stakeholder interactions in a way that drives productive user-centered solutions with UX-thinking at its core
  • Strong ability and skill in executing one or many of these design practices: UX design, UI design, interaction design, visual design, and product design
  • Developing ability to influence UX best practices while working closely with cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Developing mentoring colleagues as they learn and grow in UX discipline and practice
  • Developing ability to present complex UX information succinctly to various audiences verbally and in writing
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong ability to work both independently and on a team
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
