Key responsibilities for this role will include (but are not limited to):
- Leading the Finance department, covering Capital Markets, Project Finance, FP&A, and Administrative Accounting.
- Crafting and executing strategies for capital raising and investor relations management.
- Overseeing structured finance, financial planning, cash management, tax and accounting, risk management, and financial reporting.
- Collaborating with the executive team to shape and implement company strategies and goals.
- Fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace culture.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with financial institutions and capital providers.
- Recruiting, training, and developing the finance team, and managing performance reviews.
- Ensuring robust governance structures to enhance operational execution and shareholder value.
- Directing due diligence, term sheet negotiations, and documentation with finance providers.
- Implementing financial processes for performance management, strategic planning, and profitability analysis.
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards.
- Developing financial strategies to support company growth and sustainability.
- Providing financial analysis and insights to guide business decision-making.
- Managing relationships with investors, lenders, and other stakeholders.
- Leading financial due diligence for potential acquisitions and partnerships.
- Managing financial risks such as currency fluctuations and commodity price changes.
Required and desired skillsets, experience, and qualifications for this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA, MFA, and/or CPA highly desirable.
- 5+ years of successful experience as a senior-level executive.
- 10+ years in progressively responsible financial and operational leadership roles, ideally in the energy sector.
- Proven ability to lead diverse stakeholder groups, including the executive team, partners, vendors, and customers.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with the executive team.
- Initiative, persistence, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Experience in capital markets, financial partner relationships, and transaction execution.
- Prior experience with M&A transactions and post-acquisition integration.
- Experience with early- to mid-stage funding strategies and employee compensation models.
