Join an amazing team of telecommunication professionals! Bluebird is a dynamic growing company in need of a NOC Technician to be a part of a collaborative team.
- Shift: Night shift - Will train on days until they are up to speed.
- Probably 11:30pm-7:30am M-F to start, but the schedule can be flexible to 4 10's down the road.
POSITION PURPOSE:
The purpose of the NOC Technician is to provide customer support for Bluebird Fiber customers. Position directly monitors client network elements, network performance and facilities. NOC Technicians work directly with Field Operations and NOC Engineers on trouble tickets to coordinate, isolate, diagnosis, and repair issues in a timely manner. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and be able to work in multiple systems and manage multiple tickets simultaneously. This position requires overnight shift work. Hours are subject to change depending on department needs. Training will occur during day shift hours.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBLILITES:
Work with LECs, IXCs, vendors, internal departments, and customers to successfully troubleshoot impairments and outages as required
Trouble ticket management and documentation
Troubleshooting DWDM, MPLS, and SONET network equipment
Read and interpret CLR/DLRs
Perform remote resolution of faults through various Network Management Systems (NMS)
Monitor network performance after maintenance and network/DC changes
Work closely with Operations and Engineering to ensure quick circuit activation
Provide network assistance to Data Center technicians.
Correspond with customers with ticket updates and technical support
Interpret and implement MOPs for Network changes and upgrades
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Familiarity with trouble ticking systems
Strong customer service skills
Knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies.
DWDM and/or MPLS fundamentals.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule in a 24x7 environment
Must be able to work independently and in a team environment with minimal. guidance, while focusing on a sense of urgency for customer-impacting issues.
Multi-task and maintain composure in a demanding work environment.
Nokia, ADVA, Ekinops and MRV experience, preferred
Familiarity with trouble ticking systems, preferred
Knowledge of Fiber optic fundamentals, preferred
Experience performing circuit testing procedures and test equipment, preferred
Nokia, ADVA, Ekinops and MRV experience.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
