The Manager of Sales Training supports the development of American Airlines' Sales organization by designing and coordinating training programs for account management teams. This role facilitates trainings to equip account managers with the skills, tools, and knowledge needed to drive revenue growth, enhance client engagement, and improve productivity. What You'll Do

  • Develops and facilitates training programs focused on account manager success, including product knowledge, account development, client engagement best practices, and sales tools and processes
  • Oversees and enhances the onboarding experience for new sales team members to ensure a smooth transition and early success
  • Works closely with sales leadership and cross-functional teams to assess skill gaps, adapt training initiatives, and ensure alignment with evolving business goals and market dynamics
  • Monitors the impact of training programs by collecting feedback, working with Sales Performance and Analytics team to monitor KPIs, and refining content to enhance impact
  • Serves as the key point of contact for the Sales organization, providing guidance on training and development opportunities
  • Maintains and organizes training asset repository, ensuring materials are up-to-date and easily accessible
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, competitive insights, and best practices to continuously evolve training programs

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communication, Human Resources, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in sales, sales training, or sales enablement with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or leadership role
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing successful sales training programs that drive sales performance

Preferred Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Experience working across multiple sales teams or regions and dealing with different sales processes and product/ service offerings
  • Experience with training delivery using various learning platforms

Skills, Licenses, and Certifications

  • Demonstrates strong understanding of airlines / travel industry dynamics, including sales processes, account management strategies, and performance metrics
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing training initiatives in a structured, results-oriented approach
  • Ability to develop impactful, up-to-date training content that drive account management success and align with business objectives
  • Possesses excellent facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage large groups and diverse audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy and approachability, fostering a supportive and collaborative learning environment.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to tailor messaging for all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a large enterprise, building strong relationships and collaborating with diverse teams to drive impact
