Position Summary

The Coordinating Clerk for the Emergency Department establishes a Standard of Care that ensures medical coverage for monitoring and review of telemetry findings and appropriate patient treatment. They help the Emergency services staff to assure a smooth flow of patients through the ER. This is accomplished through clear communication with staff, other departments, physicians, patients, and families with direct accountability to the charge nurse. Responsibilities also include data collection and maintenance of accurate and complete unit forms.

Position Qualifications

Experience

  • Clerical, reception, and/or other healthcare-related experience is strongly desired.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with Telemetry monitoring in an acute care setting and/or EMT, CNA, CMA, or RT experience is preferred.

Education

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate as needed for the position is required.
  • Completion of a Basic Cardiac Rhythms (BCR) Course and/or the ability to pass Asante's Basic Cardiac Rhythms test with 90% or above is required.

PLEASE NOTE: As indicated in the Education requirements noted above, this position requires successful completion of a basic cardiac rhythms course and/or the ability to pass Asante's Basic Cardiac Rhythms test in order to qualify for the position and be forwarded for consideration.
