Position Overview:
As the Finance Business Partner at ByteDance and a member of the Global Finance team, you will play a critical role in driving the company’s continued success across the North America region and global markets. This position is based in our Los Angeles or New York office. In this role, you will serve as a strategic partner to key global functions such as Content Operations and Brand Marketing, providing valuable insights to support business decision-making. You’ll be an integral part of the finance team, collaborating closely with other finance business partners and cross-functional teams across the organization. While this is an individual contributor role, you will also be expected to provide mentorship and guidance to junior finance business partners on the team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the financial planning process for NA and Global operations: develop both short-term and long-term budget plans, monitor performance against budget, provide trend analysis to business leaders, and update financial forecasts on a regular basis
- Deliver strategic financial insights and actionable recommendations to senior leadership to support key business decisions
- Prepare and communicate clear, data-driven financial reports to senior management and other key stakeholders across the region
- Analyze regional financial performance and propose improvement initiatives to both headquarters and regional leadership
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure financial strategies are aligned with overall company objectives and market-specific goals
- Conduct ongoing industry benchmarking and business intelligence research to inform strategic decisions
- Provide mentorship and support to junior finance business partners, fostering team development and knowledge sharing
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Finance BP or equivalent work experience in content, media, or tech industry; across countries/time zones
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business management, or a related frield
- Hard skills: data analysis, financial modeling, and financial analysis
- Soft skills: great communication skills, strong logical reasoning, and critical thinking;
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful financial strategies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working across various locations/time zones and global organizations
- Proven experience in complex financial planning and analysis, with a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end financial processes and full P&L management strongly preferred
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or CMA are highly desirable
- Proficiency in business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms preferred
- Prior experience with SQL is a plus

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $117333 - $215966 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location.
