Job Description
Overview: Automated Cleaning Technologies (ACT) manufactures custom machinery for its clients. Metal work is drawn in Solidworks and machinery is designed to automatically process components in manufacturing and re-manufacturing applications. We rarely build the same system more than a handful of times so the work is exciting and very challenging. Our growing company requires AN ACTIVE AND HANDS ON ENGINEER to design and manage our Engineering staff. Our website depicts a sampling of our work in photos and videos. www.actclean.com
Responsibilities: The successful candidate is skilled and experienced in the design of machinery, automated material handling, controls, and has firsthand knowledge and working experience with pumps, plumbing, electrical layouts, pneumatics, heating systems, blowers, automation, and has extensive skills in 3D CAD (Solidworks and PDM) and BOM generation. The candidate must have verifiable experience with managing an engineering staff. The candidate will manage system kick off’s, approve drawings and review BOM’s for accuracy, will take project design responsibility from initial sketches through renderings, approval drawings, material estimating and hardware counts, fabrication drawing creation, schedule updating, and system final test and run-off. The professional must have excellent communication skills coupled with experience in overseeing multiple engineers and draftsmen. Must be willing to work in a team environment while maintaining a very high level of organization, product quality, cost control and above all get production time in engineering reduced. Must be able to devise new solutions to problems, illustrate and convey concepts clearly in English, perform FEA and record data and calculations, perform heat and load calculations, prepare manuals, charts, graphs, or otherwise deliver a system that meets ACT and its customer's normally accepted engineering standards. Knowledge of stainless steel TIG welding procedures, as well as CNC cutting and bending is REQUIRED. Experience with PLC’s and programming a plus.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical design. Not less than 5 years and preferred 10 years of machine building experience for a commercial activity. U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED. Non-degreed candidates must have equivalent combination of education, training, and verifiable experience. Expect to work hours as necessary to keep the project on schedule.
