ClearanceJobs is assisting our Colorado Springs client with their search for a Linux Systems Administrator for an onsite position at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Cyber Security team performing

STIG checks, addressing deficiencies, remediating findings, and hardening systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience administering and configuring Red Hat Enterprise Linux. The successful candidate will have a CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification.

A minimum of active Secret Security Clearance is required.

Responsibilities:

The Systems Administrator primary duties include installing, troubleshooting, updating, patching, and maintenance of physical and virtualized environments & IT infrastructure.

  • Responsible for administering and configuring Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Provide support for hardware and software issues, data recovery, system upgrades, software upgrades, configuration issues, system installation and relocation.
  • Configure and maintain networking hardware, including switches, routers, and firewalls

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree with 2 years of experience, or 6 years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Experience administering and configuring Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Must have CompTIA Security+ with Continuing Education (CE) or equivalent certification under DoD 8570.01-M
  • Active Secret clearance required to start

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with DoD STIG interpretation/remediation
  • Experience with scripting languages (Bash, Python, PowerShell)
  • Experience utilizing cybersecurity software applications
  • Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility
