Position Description

As a Risk Manager you will work with Leadership and Scrum Team Product Owners to identify and manage risks. You will work with Leadership to maintain the Risk Management Plan and process, and the Risk Register.

Position Requirements And Duties

  • Manage, execute and enforce the Risk Management Plan and process conforming to the requirements of the NIWC Risk Management Process Manual, and communicates the Risk Management Plan to team members. Develop and conduct Risk Training to team members will ensure the IPT is confident in referencing and using the Risk Register.
  • Work closely with all Scrum Team Product Owners to identify, assign and manage risks in the Risk Register, facilitates the risk identification process by conducting regular risk meetings with IPT Leadership and Scrum Team Product Owners, and chairs the Risk Review meetings. This allows the Risk Manager to provide strategies and recommendations for continuous improvement through best practices and standards.
  • Regularly communicate the risk status and mitigation strategy status to IPT Leadership, participate in the Change Configuration Board (CCB) to identify risk potential in proposed and approved configuration changes, and escalate risks to the Change Advisory Board (CAB) as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • A bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or at least three years of relevant experience.
  • At least one year of experience with risk management
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to work with multiple teams with various skillsets and with multiple priorities
  • Ability to re-prioritize and adapt
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • At least one year of experience with managing Jira Boards
  • At least one year of experience with SAFe Methodology
