Position Summary: Manage the Enterprise Risk Management, Insurance, and Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) programs within the Administrative Services Division. Develop risk strategies and oversee insurance programs, including claims, property and casualty, automobile, and workers' compensation. This role will provide strategic leadership for corporate EH&S initiatives, ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other regulations while fostering a safe work environment. Additional responsibilities include policy administration, records management, and managing organizational regulatory compliance activities with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
Position Responsibilities
- Managing the LCEC insurance portfolio which includes claims, property and casualty insurance, automobile insurance, claims prevention, and workers compensation or other insurable risk (i.e. cyber risk) Additionally, managing litigation for liability or personnel injury claims and insurance requirements for third party vendors and contractors.
- Manage and update EH&S programs to ensure the organization adheres to applicable Federal, State, and local regulations to include, but not limited to, OSHA and DOT regulations.
- Developing or enhancing Enterprise Risk Management policy, practices, and tools to analyze and report enterprise risks and develop an Enterprise Risk Management framework and program. Review risk management documentation to ensure clear relationships between risk drivers, mitigation activities and metrics.
- Manage & oversee the organization’s regulatory compliance processes including regulatory monitoring, audits, and change management.
- Manage and oversee governance programs in policy administration and records management to ensure adherence to compliance and industry best practices.
- Preparing documentation and presentation materials for various levels of management to include executive and board-level audiences.
- Strongly support emergency response, storm restoration and business continuity initiatives.
- Support the corporate and divisional vision, strategic initiatives, and objectives.
- Promote positive interaction between staff and others. Ensure customer satisfaction, both internal and external. Represent the assigned area of responsibility for cross-departmental projects and initiatives.
- Maintain a positive, cooperative, and effective working relationships with contractors, suppliers, customers, and LCEC employees at all levels and departments. Ensure smooth operations, productive communications, and effective understanding during all interpersonal contacts. Provide current and accurate information to all requesters, courteously and in a timely manner.
- Support Storm Restoration efforts when needed. Work in emergency storm situations (i.e. hurricanes) and work long hours (>12 hours per day) for many continuous days/weeks as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, Legal Studies, Compliance, or a related field. (Required)
- Master's Degree Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, Legal Studies, Compliance, or a related field. (Preferred)
- 7+ Years experience in risk management, compliance, governance or related field. (Required)
- 5+ Year supervisory or proven leadership experience. (Required)
- 2+ Years experience in the power transmission and distribution industry. (Preferred)
- Ability to influence and maintain good working relationships with executive leadership, other departments, and staff. (Required)
- Excellent leadership and team management skills. (Required)
- Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, internal controls, and compliance frameworks. (Required)
- Knowledge of Environmental, Health, & Safety workplace safety requirements with OSHA. (Required)
- Microsoft Suite applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint). (Required)
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. (Required)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. (Preferred)
- Strong ethical judgment and decision-making abilities. (Required)
- Ability to work with information of a confidential nature with the highest integrity. (Required)
- Familiarity with federal, state, and industry-specific regulations. (Preferred)
