
Application Architect

The ideal candidate should be a seasoned problem-solver with a strong grasp of software architecture and a broad range of modern development tools and technologies. This role requires both hands-on technical expertise and leadership in mentoring junior developers and ensuring best practices.
ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with stakeholders to define functional and technical software requirements
Design, develop, test, and troubleshoot both new and existing enterprise applications
Create architectural strategies, high-level product specifications, and system integrations
Use modeling methods and design tools to define UI/UX and system structure
Enforce coding standards, review designs and code to ensure quality and performance
Oversee the development team's progress and alignment with architectural plans
Lead by example with best practices in testing, documentation, and agile delivery
Provide mentorship and technical coaching to development team members
Keep up to date with industry trends and propose innovations for business value
12+ years hands-on experience developing enterprise-level applications
7+ years experience in software/application architecture
Proficiency in .NET, C#, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Expertise in UML and software modeling methods
Strong understanding of data structures, system interaction, and database design
Experience in CI/CD, cloud-native infrastructure, security, and automation
Proven ability to architect for scalability, maintainability, extensibility, and testability
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and leadership abilities
Demonstrated experience mentoring junior developers and conducting code reviews
Experience with OpenText products (e.g., Content Manager, Enterprise Scan)
Prior experience with Health & Human Services (HHS) or related government domains
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
