We are seeking a technically fluent Program Manager - Engineering to lead New Product Development (NPD) initiatives. This critical individual contributor role is responsible for managing cross-functional engineering programs from concept through launch, ensuring execution aligns with company goals.

This position formulates and organizes engineering programs and maintains all project plans in line with the companies NPD Gate Process. The Program Manager leads and coordinates a cross functional team including Mechanical, Electrical and Software Engineers, Marketing, Industrial Design, Manufacturing, Service, Quality, and Sourcing partners for planning and execution of projects for successful factory integration and launches on time and on budget. The ideal candidate is highly collaborative, technically savvy, a self-starter, and an exceptional communicator capable of driving alignment and accountability across diverse teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own and drive the end-to-end program management lifecycle, from project kickoff to final launch, ensuring adherence to scope, timeline, budget, and quality standards
  • Lead and facilitate weekly cross-functional meetings, driving clarity on deliverables, timelines, and milestones via the NPD Gate Process
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal teams and external suppliers, managing programs across domestic and international manufacturing locations, including Mexico and Canada
  • Drive progress through active schedule tracking, issue resolution, and risk mitigation, escalating as needed to maintain momentum
  • Create bill of material, detailed instructions for manufacturing, specification for packaging, external supplier specification to assure delivery of quality parts.
  • Understand engineering issues in-depth and proactively align resources to resolve them
  • Manage and communicate engineering design changes, product specs, and drawing releases across teams and stakeholders
  • Drive new supplier vetting, sourcing, and onboarding, ensuring partners meet product, timing, and quality expectations
  • Oversee technical program reviews for design compliance, manufacturability, and cost optimization
  • Track and report on project progress, status updates, and budget to executive stakeholders monthly
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, championing process upgrades and cross-team alignment
  • Travel to vendor and manufacturing sites (domestic and international) when necessary during active launch phases
  • Additional duties as assigned


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Engineering Project or Program Management with a strong emphasis on New Product Development (NPD)
  • Strong experience with gate-driven development processes, FMEA, and quality compliance protocols
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with external supplier and contract manufacturer coordination, ideally internationally
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with a sense of urgency
  • Familiarity with CAD and engineering documentation (SolidWorks a plus); ability to understand and discuss technical design work
  • Experience in engineering operations, product design, or manufacturing environments
  • High attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
  • Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and presentation
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and familiarity with PLM or document control systems

Compensation is based on experience; $102,000+
