Purpose Of Position
Avon Protection, a division of Avon Technologies Plc is looking for a Deputy Finance Director. The Deputy Finance Director will be responsible for overseeing, managing, and coordinating the financial operations of Cadillac and Hampton Park West in the UK. This includes the development of a financial and operational strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.
The successful candidate will work independently, perform as a team leader and as a team member, must be a quick learner, self-motivated, reliable, and able to balance multiple tasks simultaneously. Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to manage stress in a professional manner.

Essential Duties And/or Functions
- Responsible for the results and reporting of CAD and HPW
- Report to VP of Finance Avon Protection
- Responsibilities would include:
- Monthly closing
- Work with resources managed by Respiratory SBU finance to complete closing tasks in a timely manner.
- Cash management and reporting. Banking payment approvals.
- Monthly review and analysis of results
- Actual vs budget spend.
- Revenue results
- Labor utilization
- Scrap – weekly review with the plant and monthly review of MWR to account for any needed reserves
- Monthly cost center reporting with SBU cost center owners
- Work with Dir of FP&A on forecasting of revenue & profit
- Implement Cycle count process with goal of eliminating need for physical inventory counts
- Effectively manage internal and external audit requests for Avon Protection
- Manage project and capital spend. Work with SBU resource on overall capital and project tracking
- Work with Director of FP&A on quarterly forecasting and annual budget process
- Other accounting and reporting functions as needed
- Travel to HPW to be visible and create working relationship with operations.
- Drive the development of reporting teams in both UK and US
- Ensure compliance with DOD US pricing requirements
- Ensure standardized SBU balance sheet reconciliations are completed to required Group month end timetables and policies.
- Ensure intercompany balance sheet and profit/loss accounts are fully reconciled and confirmed with counterparty entities.
- Manage Cadillac specific site tax requirements and inputs for US and Group processes
- Role required to manage 4 direct reports in Cadillac finance team
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position.
- Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and financial planning software.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Management and leadership skills.
- Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
