How You’ll Contribute:

As a Policy Administration Business Analyst II, you will play a key role in shaping system enhancements and supporting business strategies within the Policy Administration team. This role collaborates closely with Information Technology and other administrative departments to translate business needs into functional solutions. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about optimizing operations in the insurance industry and bring analytical expertise, communication skills, and a proactive mindset to the team.

What You’ll Do:

  • Document, communicate, and manage business requirements for system enhancements.
  • Analyze and evaluate user needs to align system solutions with business goals.
  • Coordinate with IT on implementation, testing, and follow-up of system changes.
  • Lead or support the design and testing of administrative workflows and systems.
  • Streamline departmental processes to support company-wide goals.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure enhancements are accurate and effective.
  • Create and prioritize enhancement requests using SCRUM methodology.
  • Contribute to knowledge-sharing through documentation and participation in training.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive team culture and support company objectives.

What You’ll Bring:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in business analysis.
  • Knowledge of business analysis tools (e.g., use cases, user stories, context diagrams).
  • Understanding of requirement elicitation and project scoping techniques.
  • Experience in life insurance and/or annuities preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills—both written and verbal.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Adaptability to change with a focus on collaborative change management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to navigate multiple systems.
  • Experience in producing business requirements and conducting testing.
  • Commitment to creating a workplace that reflects mutual respect, trust, and a shared sense of purpose.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent use of verbal communication and visual attention (5.5–8 hours/day).
  • Frequent sitting and fine hand manipulation (5.5–8 hours/day).
  • Occasional walking, standing, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Minimal travel; role is mostly off-site, based in West Des Moines, Iowa.
