Monitoring Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Mid-Level Monitoring Engineer to join our infrastructure operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing alerting and monitoring systems across multiple environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, implement monitoring solutions, and ensure operational visibility through a combination of alerting tools, dashboards, and log pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain Prometheus Alertmanager alerts across all environments.
• Work closely with operational teams to understand alerting needs and translate them into effective monitoring strategies.
• Write and optimize PromQL queries to support alerting and metric-based monitoring.
• Ensure consistency of alert configurations across source code repositories and adapt them according to team-specific requirements.
• Design and develop Grafana dashboards to support real-time and historical monitoring needs.
• Build and maintain Fluent-bit pipelines for log collection and integration with Elasticsearch.
• Develop and manage Kibana dashboards and alerts for logfile monitoring and operational insights.
• Collaborate with the CA Spectrum team to support SNMP event mapping and infrastructure monitoring.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 2 4 years of experience in a monitoring or infrastructure operations role.
• Hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and Alertmanager.
• Strong knowledge of PromQL and metric-based monitoring principles.
• Experience with Fluent-bit and log pipeline development.
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch and Kibana, especially in the context of logfile monitoring.
• Exposure to SNMP-based monitoring and tools like CA Spectrum.
• Proficient in scripting or configuration management (e.g., Bash, Python, Terraform, Ansible is a plus).
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in cloud or hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Exposure to container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
