Job Title: Senior Oracle Database Administrator / Technical Specialist
Location: Hybrid (Onsite as required in Sacramento, CA)
Duration: 12 months (with potential for extension)
Start Date: July 1, 2025

We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator / Technical Specialist to provide expert-level technical support for complex enterprise databases supporting mission-critical applications. The selected consultant will focus on analysis, design, support, and administration of Oracle database environments, including performance tuning, upgrades, and migrations in a high-availability Linux-based infrastructure.

  • Provide advanced Oracle DBA services across over 400 enterprise databases supporting applications such as ERP, BI systems, and actuarial platforms.

  • Lead design and implementation efforts for database enhancements and infrastructure improvements.

  • Act as subject matter expert (SME) in performance tuning, disaster recovery, and automation scripting.

  • Perform upgrades from Oracle 12c to 19c, including RAC configurations and ASM support.

  • Manage database backup solutions, including RMAN and other recovery strategies.

  • Conduct regular knowledge transfer and documentation sessions with internal teams.

  • Collaborate with developers and project teams to support PL/SQL performance tuning, replication (materialized views), and Oracle Golden Gate integration.

  • Contribute to initiatives involving database cloning, on-prem/cloud migration, and scripting for automation.

Required Skills

  • 15+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience with version 12c or higher.

  • 5+ years of expert DBA experience on Red Hat Linux 7.x+ with shell scripting.

  • Proven experience supporting large-scale databases (10TB+), Oracle RAC, ASM, and Golden Gate or Oracle Data Integrator.

  • Strong experience with PL/SQL tuning, diagnostics (AWR), replication, RMAN, and auditing.

  • Prior experience supporting retirement/benefits systems or public sector systems preferred.

  • Oracle DBA Certification (11g or higher) strongly preferred.

  • Experience in VMWare and Cohesity environments a plus.

  • Oracle 12c/19c, GoldenGate, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI)

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Unix shell scripting

  • RMAN, ASM, RAC, PL/SQL, AWR, Oracle Tuning/Diagnostics/Change Packs

  • Automation scripting and advanced programming

  • Documentation, process improvement, and knowledge transfer
