As an HR Compliance Coordinator, you’ll be at the forefront of our onboarding process, responsible for reviewing, verifying, and clearing pre-employment compliance requirements—including background checks, drug tests, and I-9 documentation—for hundreds of candidates nationwide.

You’ll serve as both the first point of contact and the escalation point for questions and issues raised by candidates, internal teams, and our client.

This role is temp-hire and will work east coast hours with evenings/weekends as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact and escalation point for background check, I9 and drug testing-related inquiries and issues from candidates, client representatives, and internal stakeholders.
  • Review and process background check results, drug screens, and I-9 documentation in accordance with strict client requirements and federal compliance guidelines.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, increase efficiency, and generate cost savings within the compliance workflow.
  • Partner with HR teams for complex case resolution or compliance concerns.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure records are audit-ready at all times.
  • Monitor and report compliance metrics and trends to leadership.
  • Remain up to date on federal, state, and client-specific hiring laws and practices.

What You’ll Need

  • High School Diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
  • Proven experience managing high-volume compliance or onboarding processes.
  • Minimum 3 years in customer service, call center, collections, quality assurance, or retail leadership.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and decision-making skills with a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and care.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and internet navigation.
  • Experience with Bullhorn ATS is highly preferred.
  • Experience in pre-employment screenings or HR is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage competing deadlines.
