Job Description:
Information Technology Division (DOM-DOIT) is seeking a seasoned Application Architect to guide the development team in building high-quality software solutions for public-sector applications. This role is remote but requires U.S.-based candidates only.
The Application Architect will lead design initiatives, review junior developers code, and ensure architectural integrity, scalability, and maintainability of systems. Prior experience in HHS domains is highly desired.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test enterprise applications.
- Lead architecture and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance systems.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and enforce best practices.
- Define and maintain architecture and coding standards.
- Ensure adherence to quality, modifiability, extensibility, and security requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to align business and technical goals.
- Approve final products and provide technical guidance throughout the SDLC.
- Propose and advocate modern development tools, methodologies, and technologies.
Required Qualifications:
- 12+ years of enterprise software development experience.
- 7+ years in software architecture and full-stack development.
- Proficiency in .NET, C#, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
- Experience with OpenText (Content Manager, Enterprise Scan) is a strong plus.
- Strong grasp of UML, data structures, system integration, and modeling.
- Deep knowledge of CI/CD, cloud-native systems, infrastructure automation, and testing best practices.
- Excellent communication, mentoring, organizational, and leadership skills.
Preferred:
- Previous Health and Human Services (HHS) project experience.
- Experience in leading technical direction for distributed development teams.
Compliance Notes:
- Background checks (including fingerprinting) are required.
- Use of AI-generated responses during interviews is strictly prohibited.
- Right to Represent form submission and physical address for background check required.
