Kforce has a client in Birmingham, AL that is seeking a Software Engineer II.

About the Role
As a Software Engineer on our client's Mobile Banking API team, you'll build and maintain cloud-native, microservice-driven back-end services that power our Android and iOS apps. You'll join a growing Agile team-currently six engineers plus Scrum Master, PO, Solution Architect, and DevOps-helping us scale to eight.

Responsibilities:
* Design & Develop - Build and extend C#/.NET RESTful APIs within a microservices architecture
* Cloud-Native Delivery - Containerize services with Docker on OpenShift and prepare for an eventual AWS migration
* API Management - Integrate and govern APIs via MuleSoft as a proxy layer
* Performance & Reliability - Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance in authenticated, security-sensitive environments
* Collaboration - Work closely with front-end teams, QA, DevOps, and Solution Architects to deliver end-to-end solutions
* Continuous Improvement - Participate in sprint planning, peer code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., CodeBuild/Deploy, CloudFormation)

REQUIREMENTS:
* 3+ years of professional experience in C#/.NET development
* 3+ years of experience building RESTful APIs in a microservices architecture
* 3+ years of cloud-native development (AWS preferred) experience
* Hands-on with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift)
* Familiarity with API gateways/proxies (ideally MuleSoft)
* Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance-tuning skills
* Comfortable in Agile/Scrum environments and using ADO (Azure DevOps)

Preferred Experience:
* AWS certifications or hands-on experience migrating on-premises workloads to AWS
* Enterprise-scale or fintech/mobile-banking background
* Exposure to Java-based microservices (we manage ~25-30 C# APIs plus some Java)
* Knowledge of security best practices in authenticated environments

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
