  • Manages his/her own portfolio, as assigned by the Leasing Supervisor, by providing expert technical advice on specific tasks, furnishing written instructions, reference materials and relevant background material to clients
  • Reviews requests for additional private and federal sector space for client bureaus. Develops and analyzes housing strategies and consults with clients on their specific requirements, including the amount, type and location of space.
  • Carries out major projects and serves as a project manager and possibly as COR (which may require occasional travel) for the Office of Realty and Space Management when designing or constructing space 5,000 square feet or less.
  • Performs project planning and management functions including the development of project management strategies, schedules, tracking systems, and budget estimates for approved and proposed projects.
  • Assesses program requirements, reviews existing procedures, and develops and implements new and innovative actions, programs or methods to improve operating policies and procedures in the management, control and acquisition of space for the DOS.

Qualifications

Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.

Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in real estate activities to include negotiations, budgeting, leasing, property transfer alterations, space management, acquisition and disposal of federally-owned and/or leased property.
  • Experience in real estate Project Management activities to include programming, scope of work development, market research, project schedules, and coordinate with design and construction activities.
  • Experience in consulting with beneficiaries, lessees, landowners and other interested parties on the contracting process, options, and other needs and documentation.
  • Experience in developing correspondences and briefing material for high-level briefings to executive leaders.

There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.
