QA QC COORDINATOR:

The role of QA QC Coordinator ensures the quality of the site installations is consistent with standards and requirements together with NYCDOB, national and international standards, legal compliance and the client’s specifications.

Structure:

The QA QC Coordinator reports directly to the Site Manager and has no direct reports.

Position Overview:

  • Implement the QA/QC management system at site
  • Coordinate and perform quality site inspections, assessments and evaluations with the site sub-contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with quality practices and to ensure appropriate and effective implementation
  • Coordinate with the client’s Site QA QC inspectors on quality matters
  • Coordinate with third party inspectors including the NYCDOB and any other authority jurisdiction
  • Distribute relevant QA/QC documentation to site subcontractors
  • Verify the quality related site activities are in accordance with the applicable codes and standards
  • Participate in the site internal and external site audits as applicable
  • Identify, initiate, and report non-conformities, analyze root causes and take preventative and corrective measures, complete a minimum of one QSR per day
  • Meet, review and report to the site project team, any observed and document deficiencies or concerns
  • Follow up with teams to ensure deficiencies are being addressed
  • Track project deficiencies and non-conformities, in addition to ensuring turnover documentation is completed progressively throughout the project life cycle
  • Develop assessment and evaluation checklist to be used
  • Drive for quality and continuous improvement
  • Assist in QA/QC document control functions and activities
  • Compile data to provide statistical analysis
  • Ensure quality documentation is prepared and controlled in accordance with applicable quality program requirements
  • Working with the Site project team, to undertake a quality assurance review of both the site and site documentation for compliance and completeness with design specifications, design intent and approved engineering drawings
  • Establish lessons learned processes and maintain associated records ensuring compliance;
  • Control all nonconformance reports and undertake remedial action
  • Compete site quality control instructions and action remedial responses
  • Review the client specification and undertake relevant training requirements to the Client QC inspector
  • Monitor the implementation of the approved site QC Plan
  • Complete and coordinate the approval of the sites QC technical submittals to the customer

Monitor the execution of work from a quality perspective. Complete a minimum of one QSR per day

Monitoring of all inspection and test plans, ensuring hold points are adhered to and witness for all site tests

Collection of turnover documentation. Assemble turnover packages per building and system. Follow B&V template (to be provided). Turnover documentation must be collected regularly and turnover documentation built from the beginning of the project. Collaborate with PM team to ensure that O&M manuals, FAT reports, shop routings, letters of conformance and any other documentation listed within our approved ITP’s is collected from our suppliers/sub-contractors;

Support the site HSE program by getting involved in site walks, and participating in the Behavior Based Observation (BBO) program

Maintain accurate and up to date redlines

  • Coordinate with the Site Manager on all quality issues. Coordinate and chair the QA/QC site weekly meetings with the projects sub-contractor’s QC personnel

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field along with 5 years’ experience in a quality assurance position relating to commercial/industrial and construction projects
  • Keen interest in Quality Assurance and Control
  • Experience with material testing and handling will be considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of testing equipment/techniques, interpretation of drawings/specifications and required construction standards and building code
  • Efficient in MS Office Products – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Efficient experience in Procore software
  • Strong communication, detail oriented and organizational skills are essential
  • Ability to establish and build strong working relationships
  • Experience writing clear, concise inspection reports which validate contract requirements
  • Must be able to with internal/external clients, subcontractors, vendors in a cooperative manner to solve problems to the satisfaction of the client and our contract requirements
  • Anticipated workday is 6:00 a.m – 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday – there could be a requirement for some overtime above and beyond, dependent upon the project site schedule
