The University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc (UTFI) invites applications and nominations to fill the position of Senior Advancement Assistant for the University of Tennessee, Health Science Center located in Memphis, TN . Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Development , the Senior Advancement Assistant is responsible for supporting 7 (+/-) advancement directors . This support involv es serving as a liaison for assigned advancement directors and staff, campus and system personnel, and external constituencies of the university.

Responsibilities

The purpose of this position is to contribute to the advancement efforts for the UT Health Science Center by providing administrative support and stewardship/donor relation activities to the advancement team for university, including travel planning and processing, budget monitoring & reporting, and boar d meetings & committees . Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

Administrative Coordination and Support: Support the administrative needs of senior staff and advancement directors may include working on schedules for guests and friends of the University. Draft communications for staff/leadership and/or paper or electronic publications. Assist with travel planning/reimbursements, projects and select events. Coordinate t ravel for the Assistant Vice Chancellor and assigned advancement directors & offices and coordinating on and off campus logistics .

Office Operations: Serve as the first line of customer service for visitors and phone calls, manage mail sorting, order office supplies, handle facilities and parking requests, perform onboarding and exiting activities for employees, maintain office equipment and assist with scheduling and communications .

Required Education And Experience

The candidate who fills the Senior Advancement Assistant position is required to have:

  • High School degree or equivalent with 5+ years of office experience OR business/technical school credential with 3+ years of experience
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and Zoom
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills; commitment to professionalism and customer service
  • Highly supportive of and committed to diversity, equity and inclusion

Preferred Education And Experience

In addition to meeting the required qualifications, the preferred candidate will have:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Direct advancement experience
  • Proficient in ANDI/Salesforce database management and IRIS system
