Job Summary

Overall Purpose:

To assist the Lead-Business Centre in the smooth running and operations of the Centre to achieve business objectives. This includes working with the Relationship Managers to enhance relationships with existing business customers and seeking new business relationships and opportunities to ensure growth in the Centre’s portfolio, enhancing the loan book quality and ascertaining the maximum return whilst ensuring effective credit management.

Key Responsibilities

The job holder will be responsible for:

  • Having a hands-on approach and commitment to the expansion and success of the business by implementing strategies that increase productivity and enabling achievement of targets.
  • Locating areas of improvement and proposing corrective actions that meet challenges and leverage growth opportunities.
  • Evaluating employee performance by helping to prepare and delivering annual reviews while performing coaching sessions.
  • Assisting the Lead – Business Centre in sourcing and generating new business and in keeping abreast with the Centre’s portfolio, whilst acting as a reference point for the Relationship Managers and their customers in their absence.
  • Meeting with customers while overseeing and assisting in the preparation of the proposals.
  • Analysing facilities and credit applications of new business customers within reasonable timeframes according to the Bank’s Credit Policy.
  • Acting as a specialised desk within the Centre, taking over relationships which exhibit Early Warning Indicators and arrears.
  • Coaching and developing individual team members within the Business Centre with a view to enhancing their skills and techniques in the credit field to be in a better position to offer a professional service.
  • Ensuring a smooth workflow and a professional modus operandi with timely and effective execution of tasks to fulfil customers’ expectations and the Centre’s targets.
  • Managing all administrative duties within the Business Centre and liaising with the necessary support units for the proper running of the same Centre.

In addition to the specific functions, management may assign more duties as required for the job from time to time.

Required Experience

  • A minimum of Six (6) years’ previous proven experience in a similar role in business banking and / or credit environment;

Required Education

  • A certification in Credit or Risk Management or related.

Desirable Criteria

  • MQF Level 6 degree in a Business or a financial related subject.
  • Experience in managing a team
