Position Summary:

The Manager, Demand Planning is responsible for analyzing historical sales data, market trends, and customer behavior to forecast demand for our products or services accurately. This position collaborates closely with sales, marketing, operations, and supply chain teams to develop demand plans that support business objectives while optimizing inventory levels and minimizing stockouts. It also involves implementing demand planning strategies, utilizing forecasting models, and continuously monitoring and adjusting plans to respond to changing market conditions.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain demand forecasts for all products or services based on historical data, market trends, and business intelligence.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams to gather insights and incorporate them into demand forecasts.
  • Analyze demand patterns and factors influencing demand variability to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Work closely with supply chain and operations teams to ensure alignment between demand plans and inventory management strategies.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as forecast accuracy, demand volatility, and inventory turnover, and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Lead cross-functional meetings to review demand plans, identify risks and opportunities, and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Develop and implement demand planning processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to assess the impact of different factors on demand forecasts.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to integrate demand forecasts into financial planning and budgeting processes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to anticipate changes in demand and adjust forecasting accordingly.
  • Integral contributor to the SIOP cycle.
  • Ability to translate unit forecast into a dollarized sales forecast based on ASP.
  • Analyze demand patterns and factors influencing demand variability to improve forecast accuracy and make recommendations and actions to improve.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, statistics, or a related field. Or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in demand planning, forecasting, or related roles, preferably in a manufacturing, retail, or consumer goods environment.
  • Proficiency in demand planning software (e.g. Demand Solutions, NetStock) and ERP systems (e.g., MSD365, NetSuite, Sage).
  • Proven advanced Excel skills.
  • Understanding of inventory concepts and of the flow of goods across a supply chain
  • Experience working with international markets and global supply chains.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to analyze large datasets and extract meaningful insights.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Knowledge of statistical forecasting techniques and demand planning best practices.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and leading meetings or projects.
  • Basic knowledge of Power B.I. or SQL to source/analyze data and prepare reports.
  • Managerial courage to challenge the findings, variances, and trends with key stakeholders.
